The Nevada World Trade Council (NEWTRAC) is a non-profit professional business organization serving Nevada’s international business community. NEWTRAC consists of a group of seasoned professionals motivated to come together to share expertise and information in today’s rapidly evolving world markets. Membership provides you access to and participation in this wealth of knowledge and expertise. NEWTRAC activities and events bring together top professionals, foreign business visitors and dignitaries. Cristina Mont-Kraus, PresidentCristina Mont-Kraus comes to NEWTRAC with over 16 years of international business, project management and consulting experience. She has practiced in a range of industries including Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing, Technology, Healthcare, Government and Defense. She has lead and implemented many technology projects throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Cristina has experience executing offshore contract manufacturing strategies, enterprise wide technology implementations, international logistics and manufacturing supplier integration efforts, US & Foreign Custom Regime Audits and leading teams in various other strategic change initiatives. Cristina is President of DoConnect Systems, Inc a Technology and Supply Chain Consultancy, holds a Bachelors Degree in Business – Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University and a professional certification in Lean Manufacturing/Enterprise. Donna Artz, Vice PresidentDonna Artz is currently a free lance entrepreneur specializing in sales, marketing and paralegal practice. Donna has been on the NEWTRAC Board of Trustees since 1994, and has served as the Media Relations Trustee on the Board for 10 years, and Vice President for 1 year. Donna has been through the NxLevel training for International Trade and has also worked as International Sales and Marketing manager for Raven Electronics. Ms. Artz has served as the Trustee of the Made In Nevada Program at the State of Nevada’s Economic Development Commission. She has also assisted the Economic Development Commission in writing and coordinating the Nevada Investment Guide for Japanese Companies, which has been translated and distributed in Japan and can be found on the Commission’s website: www.expand2nevada.com. Donna specializes as a paralegal doing minutes for corporate entities. Donna has lived and worked abroad in France, and did a semester of studies at the University of London, majoring in Criminal Justice. Rossana Bertani-Roach, Acting TreasurerSince 2003 Rossana Bertani-Roach has been a professional interpreter and translator for Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and English. She is a registered Nevada court interpreter, immigration court interpreter and is trained as a health care interpreter. She graduated from law school and is a member of the Bar Association of Brazil. Having lived in many different countries, including Italy, Morocco, Brazil, Uruguay, El Salvador, and Panama, Bertani-Roach settled in the Tahoe/Reno area 13 years ago. Her professional background includes the travel industry, as the principal of First Class Representations. In the U.S. she has seen successful as an international sales manager for a local company, and founded her own import business. Bertani-Roach is co-founder, treasurer and PR co-chair of Nevada Interpreters and Translators Association (NITA). She is also a member of the American Translators Association, and Sparks Chamber of Commerce. Joining NEWTRAC she hopes to share her International market expertise, and global vision, as well as learn from her distinguished counterparts, while helping NEWTRAC to grow stronger. Miriano Ravazzolo, TrusteeMiriano Ravazzolo has twenty five years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur in Italy and Europe, as well as many years in the USA. Within his past experiences, he has been General Manager of Rx Italia, Managing Trustee of the Industrial Division of Zhermack SpA, founder and CEO of Zhermack Inc. in the US. Mr. Ravazzolo is the founder and General Manager of InterConnekt LLC, an international consulting firm, and board member of MCT Group, Inc. and Elettrotec, Inc. He really has direct and first hand experience on the different ways of conducting business in the US and in Europe. Mr. Ravazzolo is the appointed “Independent Trade and Investment Representative to Italy” by the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. Yvonne Stedham, TrusteeYvonne Stedham is Professor of Management at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Stedham teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Human Resource Management and International Management. She has provided consulting and training services to many companies, nationally and internationally. He possesses an MBA from University of Nevada-Reno and Master of Science in Mass Communications from San Jose State University in California. Volker Huber, TrusteeVolker Huber has more than a decade of experience in leading international companies in Germany and the US. Mr. Huber is President & CEO of German-owned PRIME Memorysolution, Inc, which is part of the Germany-based Memorysolution Group, with several offices in Europe and in Hong Kong. Mr. Huber conducts import/export business in the field of hi-tech component distribution in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Mr. Huber strategically relocated PRIME Memorysolution, Inc. from Florida to Reno, NV in 2005, doubling the sales volume to $10.8M in the first year. Previously Mr. Huber owned an international consulting firm in Germany. Customers included GE Healthcare, GE Capital, testo, DEKRA Akademie, etc.. Mr. Huber also taught at the Fraunhofer Institute, the University Hospital of Freiburg, and was a lecturer for the IHK – Chamber of Commerce in Germany. Alan DiStefano [Ex Officio]Alan DiStefano, State of Nevada Commission on Economic Development- 775-687-4325 x227 Alan Di Stefano has been the Trustee, Global Trade and Investment, for the Nevada Commission on Economic Development (NCED) since March 2000. As Trustee, he oversees the State of Nevada’s International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment Programs and works closely with the Office of Protocol. Alan Di Stefano has been instrumental in expanding Nevada’s role in international trade and attracting investment by foreign and multinational companies into Nevada. Nevada’s exports during the first nine years of his term increased 316% to over $6.1 billion. Under his direction, the international program funds obtained for Nevada from federal sources have risen over fourfold. In the same time period the number of new international companies that have decided to locate their US operations in Nevada has increased 50%. The government of Mexico located the first permanent foreign Consulate in Nevada in the state’s history in Las Vegas in 2002. In 2004 El Salvador also opened a permanent consulate in Las Vegas. There are currently 20 Honorary Consuls General for various foreign countries in Nevada. In 2002 he was responsible for opening the Nevada’s first trade representative offices in the Peoples Republic of China with representatives in Beijing and Shanghai. Additional representative offices have been appointed in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Mexico and the UK. In 2005 the Consul of State Governments recognized this program with one of its eight national “Innovations Awards.” |
